Building our home in the Bush.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are building our home in the rural African Bush. It is located about 16 mile north of the city of Chimoio. We are building it out of used brick and "cob" material. (Sand Clay and Straw). This is the latest picture of what we have accomplished so far. We hope to be able to put the roof on in the month of October, Lord willing. Just before the rains!!!!!

It has been awhile since we last wrote in our Blog. It is our up to date news. We have decided to build our homes on the farm that we purchased last March. The farm is called Eden. For the past four months we have been searching for a farm closer than 16 miles to the town of Chimoio. But alas we haven't been able to find a suitable place. So we will be starting to build our homes on the Eden Farm. These are some of the pictures of the farm. So far this growing season we have planted over 1141 Eucalyptus trees as a boarder around the 440 acre farm, 1300 pineapple plants, four acres of corn and will be planting sesame seed and soybean, Lord willing. We are working with our Mozambican brothers and sisters to help them help themselves. Pictures are the site of old well that we will repair and the road to Eden which is being repaired by hand almost daily.

I always say that a missionary's job is to help people become dependent upon the Lord. What do you think about this?

I think missions like yours are responsible for the destruction of tribal cultures around the world. You divide the young against the old by ridiculing or smearing the old traditional ways and religions. By trying to christianise everything the church has destoyed the valuble cultural diversity of many countries. In many areas this extinction of cultural values has hastened westernisation and enviromental destruction. If you were true to your secondary aim you would just help this vulnerable people without trying to convert them. I will not leave my email because of the risk of fundamentalists taking reprisals because my view is different to theirs. Surley the church should concentrate of working in the Uk to get believers here because the churches are empty these days. Question #1: Many people think that when a missionary returned to their native land in order to report to supporting churches it is a vacation. What are your comments?
